Finding Your Trailer

The Hire My Trailer booking process begins with a trailer search and ends after you have dropped off the trailer and rated the owner. To get started, open your app or use the Website.
If you are on the Website, go to the Trailer Search menu and enter your search location and hire dates. You will be returned a list of trailers.

If Apps are more your thing, after downloading and registering, Use the Images to select the type of trailer. Then use the slider at the bottom to select the size or function of the trailer.
In the location bar start typing the address or suburb you want to search. The display will automatically update so that you can pin point a search area. Alternatively, you can use the default which is your current location. Next, tap the Right arrow to start the search.
Update the dates at the bottom of the screen to update the map with the trailers available. On the map page you can zoom into an area or zoom out to expand your search. The map will automatically adjust what trailers are displayed.

Now that you have found the list of trailers, whether on the Map in the App or List on the Website Select the trailer that you would like to review. This will open another screen showing the owners rating and details about the trailer including its condition.

Now that you have reviewed the trailer, now it is time to request a booking. Note that you are requesting and that the owner has not accepted yet.
When you send a booking request to the owner the owner will receive an SMS message and In-App notification advising of your request.
As part of sending a booking request, your credit card is charged for the hire amount. This is like a hotel credit card swipe to ensure adequate funds are available. If the owner does not accept the booking request, your card issuer will automatically remove the hold on the funds.

The owner now has 2 options, either to Decline the booking request or Accept the booking request.
If the owner declines, you will receive an SMS message and In-App notification if you use the App. The money previously charged is not collected and released by your card issuer.
If the owner accepts the booking request, the money previously charged will be captured. This means you have paid for the hire. You will receive an SMS saying that the booking has been accepted. You will also receive an Electronic Rental Agreement in your email.

Once the owner accepts the booking, you will both be emailed an electronic Rental Agreement which has both your details from your Profile.
Don’t worry, you won’t need to print it. Bring it up on your smart phone, tablet or PC and sign it with your finger, or type in your name. This becomes a legally binding contract.
As each person signs, you will receive an updated contract in your email. You will be able to review the fully signed agreement from within the User area of the web site.

The day arrives and you are ready to pick up the trailer. When you arrive at the trailer location, it is good practice to confirm each other's name, inspect the trailer is as described and is not damaged.
The owner will then confirm the pickup and a holding deposit will automatically be held on your payment account. This is a $200 bond.

Once you have finished with the trailer, return to the pickup location and ensure you have returned the trailer in the same condition in which you picked it up. You are advised to clean it out.
Inspect the trailer with the owner to ensure only expected wear and tear exists. The owner will then confirm the drop off in the app or website
You will receive an email with your receipt and the next time you log in your app will ask you to rate the owner. You can do this anytime before requesting your next hire.
